Last night, I attended a class at Pil-oga-robic. It’s a studio in NE Portland that combines Pilates, yoga, cardio and strength training. Kind of like Pilates/yoga/cardio… or… Pil-oga-robics.
The p-o-r WALL class I took felt akin to bootcamp classes I’ve taken in the past, just with the added element of grace from reformers and bungee resistance instead of burpees and push-ups. Continue reading →
Since starting pdXercise, people who have taken some form of dance in the past have recommended that I, no-dance-ever-Agatha, try ZUMBA. They’ve assured me that it doesn’t matter that I’m choreography-phobic… or that I’m highly uncoordinated… or that I trip while walking on flat surfaces. But, for reasons unknown, I’ve been too intimated to try ZUMBA until now thanks to PulsePDX.
Dancing is really hard, you guys. Especially when there are weights involved. And a bosu ball. And a yoga mat. And a very uncoordinated ME.
Regardless, I danced my ass off at Diva Den Studio in southwest. I am actually having trouble feeling that part of my body right now.
When I arrived at the Diva Den I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who offered to give me a tour of the studio. As we walked around I couldn’t help but giggle at the decor which, true to its name, is nothing short of bold. There are stripper shoes that adorn the wall alongside lots of pink and glitter.
